Very interesting and informative. I always enjoy this blog!
ReplyDeleteThe pics are beautiful and comments very useful but I can't find any actual recipe for the banana bread on the site or at Pinterest. Very nice blog:)
ReplyDeleteHi there. Try this link http://blueribbonkitchen.blogspot.com/2014/12/gifts-from-kitchen-first-place-banana.html...it will take you to the post. At the bottom, the recipe is listed. I just double checked...it's still there. Happy Baking!!
DeleteI noticed you mentioned a Coconut Cake which won a ribbon! When will that recipe be available? Great recipes on your website, by the way! Will be trying out your pies. Thanx again for a beautiful site!
ReplyDeleteHopefully soon. It's a BIG recipe, so I'll need to carve out some time to give it the attention it deserves. Thanks so much for your interest in the cake and the blog.
DeleteHello, I was at the first day Of the Country Living Fair. When they passed out the recipe for your homemade butter. They ran out of recipe's and I did not get one. Could you please include that recipe on your blog, for those of us that did not get a recipe card? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi!! Thanks so much for writing, however, my presentation on the first day was "Salted Caramel Pecan Turtle Bars"... I think the lovely ladies just before me did a butter presentation that would be: Tricia at The Seasoned Farmhouse. She can be reached via this link: http://www.theseasonedfarmhouse.com/ Good luck, I hope you find the recipe you are searching for!! Best, Karri
DeleteIt was amazing to watch you demo your pecan pie today. On the way home, I ordered Penzey's spices and vanilla. Tonight I have ordered the drip catcher pan (which was $5 off before the coupon). I am now contemplating trying to order lard from Jungle Jim's. You were an inspiration and a half!!
ReplyDeleteOh Mary, I'm so happy to know that you feel inspired!! Thank you for writing to share your shopping success!! I hope that your pies turn out wonderfully -- I have no doubt that you will do great, I will be rooting for you. Be sure to check in after the West Virginia State Fair... I'll be eager to hear how it turns out. You can do it!!
DeleteBest,
Karri
I have been on a search for first place ribbons for the WV Pumpkin Festval and have found 87 of them. I have won several blue ribbons from our county fair, but don't know how many of them I have saved. They would be in the attic with the patriotic decorations, so it will be summer before I drag those boxes out. I now have a goal to see if I can collect 100. What an inspiration you have been!! Btw, I just saw your pumpkin fudge recipe and plan to try it soon. If you should ever have a chance to do so, Google pumpkin fudge or Southern Living 2005 and check out my pumpkin fudge recipe. Happy baking!!! Fall is such an amazing time to bake!!!
