Easter Egg Beanbags | Corn-hole

I love quotes and adages.

No nonsense, straight forward truths about life..

Quotes that
help me to remember to keep things simple...

A lot of the time my favorite sayings are
a little country-ish...
and a little old fashioned too.

Country and old-fashioned...
two things I like.
This all makes perfect sense...
In fact, one of my very favorite gifts, ever, was
a cute little "county sayings" calendar...
With the turn of each page, a new day offered
a sassy piece of old-fashioned country "wisdom"...
Many were great one-liners and zingers,
and other pages offered more thoughtful advice on life...
Every day was a good read....very good.

I am always telling my kiddos,
"Don't count your chickens before they hatch"...

And my personal favorite....
"Don't put all your eggs in one basket"

You'd think we were chicken farmers from the sound
of my favorite old-fashioned sayings...

Today, I break from tradition...
just long enough to request that you
put ALL of your
eggs in ONE basket...

This is one occasion where keeping all those "eggs" in
one Easter basket is a good thing!

My Good Luck Charm | Ribbon Garland

I was running low on daylight... and time...

rain clouds were on the way too...

which wasn't helping my lighting situation.

We don't get a huge amount of natural light

in our kitchen all day long...

But...

I usually have a small window of opportunity...

when the right amount of light is available...

and snapping photos is optimal...

So, I hurried...

And quickly snapped a few dozen pictures...
A lot of the photos at first glance, looked blurry...

I thought "maybe it was me...or the lighting..."

And then... I spied a mistake...

It didn't matter how many photos I had taken... blurry or clear...

All the photos had the same unlucky error...

Easy DIY Flower Napkin Rings

"We Can Do It"...

What a great motto.

The motto of those that believe anything is possible...and DO-able.

...And without getting too historic on the origins of that saying...

The art of  'doing'  along with the art of getting things done...

especially applies to

Do-It-Yourself types...(present company included)

With a hot glue gun...and enough glue...

most DIYer's could

make just about anything...

True Story: In college, my stereo broke...
So naturally, I opened it up...voiding all warranties
and ignoring all written warnings...
I fixed the stereo with my hot glue gun...  I really did.
That poor old stereo (probably in someones attic by now...)
...that stereo was given an entire second act thanks to
a budding young DIY-er and her hot glue gun skills.
Instead of "Rosie the Riveter"...It was "Karri the Gluer"...

The moral of this "glory days" story:

If you can't find what you are looking for...

Make it yourself.

The second moral of the story
(for good measure) is:
Read and follow all safety warnings on electrical equipment.
I am not advocating the use of hot glue to fix or repair such items.

And today, while planning my Easter table.

Yes...(I know... I'm such a planner)

I couldn't find what I wanted...

or...

maybe a better way of putting it...

...I couldn't find exactly what I wanted

at a price I was willing to pay.

So...

You guessed it...

I made it myself.

And here's the best part... you can too.  ;)
